The National Institute of Informatics (NII) has built the Institutional Repositories DataBase (IRDB) by collecting the metadata of institutional repositories according to an application from the person in charge of the management of the institutional repository of each institution.

The NII Institutional Repositories DataBase Contents Analysis System provides IRs (institutional repositories) in Japan with the following information:

• Detailed information of institutional repositories [updated as needed]
• Information on the statistical analysis of the contents of institutional repositories (by content type, by organization, etc.) [updated at the end of each month]

• Policy on data collection of the Institutional Repositories DataBase by the National Institute of Informatic (Japanese) (PDF 103kb)
