In this paper, we describe a knowledge creation enhancing system named “Bolelog.” Modes of conversations are different between on-line non-face-to-face communications and off-line face-to-face ones. Therefore, different information and knowledge are exchanged in the on-line conversations and in the off-line ones even if the same topic is discussed. By integrating respective features of both communication modes, more rich and diverse information and knowledge can be shared and created. “Bolelog” is a system that injects a fragment of the on-line conversations into the off-line communication space to induce related face-to-face conversations and that records them and feeds them back to the on-line communication space. In addition, we integrated Bolelog with “Office Buzz Channel” to inform office members that an off-line communication related to an on-line topic is held at a shared communication space. We conducted a pilot experiment to evaluate Bolelog. We found some cases where users created new knowledge in the off-line conversations related to the injected fragments of the on-line conversations and they feed back the recorded off-line conversations to on-line.
