Abstract

In this paper, we propose the system extracting figurative explanations from the web. Our system collects candidates for figurative descriptions for the target words using the Web, and extracts a word that shows to what it should be compared from those candidates. Each extracted word are set as “word of comparison” in each extraction source candidate. Then, our system selects appropriate candidates by a similarity calculation proposed in this paper, and outputs selected candidate. We evaluate the validity of our system output.

本研究では,比喩による用語説明生成システムの構築に取り組んでいる。用語の意味を調べる際には辞書等を用いることが多いが,それらに記載される内容は必ずしも解り易いとは言えない。そこで“例え”等比喩を用いた説明に注目した．比喩を用いた説明は，一般に広く用いられている．加えて，教育の場においても，その有効性が多数報告されている．このことから，比喩による説明が概念等の理解を補助できるといえる．本研究では読み手にとって未知の単語に対して，比喩による説明を付与することで，読み手の直観的理解を助けることを可能とするシステムの構築を目指す． 入力単語から，Web検索エンジンを用いて比喩による説明文の候補を収集し，それぞれから何に例えられているかを表す単語を抽出する．これを説明文に対する“例えの語”として設定する．入力単語と“例えの語”について，本稿で提案する関連度を測ることにより，適切なものを選択して出力する．以上の処理を行うシステムについて，その妥当性を評価した．
