  • Other en <p>Iōtori Island had been in eruption frequently and the eruption occured in April 1903. The government decided it is too dangerous for the inhabitants<br /> to live in Iōtori Island, and relocate them partially to the Kume Island. Saito Yonosuke who was the ward mayor of Shimajiri ward when the eruption<br /> occured, wrote about the occurrences in the book of "Torishima Iju Shimatsu" in March 1920. This is indispensable material to learn about migration<br /> to Torishima.</p>
