  • Abstract Flipped classroom is getting attention as a new method in the field of higher education.It seems to be useful to increase learning time out of class, especially in Japan. Several practices validate its efficiency, and in principle, learning time of students, as a whole,increases by introducing flipped course materials for homework. Flipped classroom is not only for the sake of increasing learning time but also for redesigning it more flexibly, it contributes to improvement or innovation of higher education. Carroll’s model of learning time suggests that learning time is capable to be arranged with more flexibility and variety according to students’ diversity of their readiness for learning.
